My favorite perfume of 15 years was discontinued, so I was on the search of a new fragrance. I ordered the full discovery set, and while I liked all of them, none was just right. Luckily, I received a sample of Velvet, and I instantly knew it was the one! It lasts the entire day on me. I can smell it on myself, which usually doesn’t happen, but it is not overwhelming to people around me. I feel so good when I wear this.
The scent is a little hard for me to describe, but sensual is a good description. It is creamy, soft, smooth and smoky. Definitely a Smokey beginning, but it lasts as a subtle warm soothing smoke- more clove scent. It’s slightly sweet, but not sugar-sweet. It has vanilla- like scent, but not sugar vanilla. For some reason, I think of childhood Bazooka gum- NOT that it has a sweet bubblegum scent, more of the delicious powdery memory of opening the wrapper.
*I recently bought a sample of the Velvet Bold, and it smells very similar, but much more Smokey.

I love the complexity of this fragrance! So rich, so decadent, so sexy! I love how the deep toasted almond blooms into a beautiful rose that’s balanced out by an amber that is so captivating! I will always rebuy this fragrance- I’m on my second bottle!

Literally smells like you’re running through the halls of an old castle that’s owned by a vampire who’s secretly in love with you. There are dried bouquets of roses in every room and the furniture is covered with old cloths and an inch thick layer of dust. The most perfect gothic, romantic perfume straight from a pulp fiction novel. Decent projection and lasts about 4 hours.

This dark-ish rose is almost bohemian gothic to me. Unusual...not something you'll smell on everyone. I get the scent of clove and incense along with the rose...this is definitely not your typical rose scent. I recommend trying before buying a full bottle. I love it!
